Amsterdam by Gregory Alan Isakov
I had never heard of Gregory Alan Isakov before a few months ago. I have a good friend who is obsessed with him, so naturally I had to look him up. I don’t listen too much to folk music, but I really loved “Amsterdam.” It just sounds cozy. Gregory’s voice is so warm and casual that you will want to curl up in a blanket while you listen. And when I heard the version Gregory recorded with the Colorado Symphony, I got chills. It’s simply magical. I love how epic the build-up is with the symphony. Not to mention how beautiful the lyrics are. If you’ve been needing a folksy serenade this summer, Gregory has you covered.
